What I got for Christmas 2013! (pic heavy)

Thursday, 2 January 2014

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas & New Year and got lots of lovely things! I'm going to put out a warning here and say this post is a very long one. I love reading these posts because if I'm honest, I'm really nosy, so I thought I'd write one myself and share with you what I got for Christmas. I know a lot of people dislike these type of posts and believe they're only written to brag, but there's also a lot of people, like myself, who enjoy them so away we go. I'm a little uneasy about posting this because everyone gets a different amount of money spent on them at Christmas.  I buy a lot, if not most, of the things I want with my own money and I would never ask my parents to buy me anything designer for Christmas because they simply can't afford it. The gifts shown here are from my family, my boyfriends family and finally my boyfriend who got me a lot of presents because it was our first Christmas together and we just went over board. Everything I got from him was a surprise! Some of you may think I got a lot this year whilst others may think I got nothing but I'm very happy with everything I got regardless of what anyone else thinks. So here's what I got for Christmas in 2013...

Clothing
Topshop Heart Print Shirt - This item of clothing was a present from my boyfriend. I've been lusting over this shirt for so long it's the perfect copy of the Burberry heart print shirt and for a fraction of the price. I'm absolutely in love with this it's perfect.
Primark Floral Dress - I was shopping in Primark with my mum when we spotted this dress. I fell in love with it straight away I just adore the pattern. I picked it up and went to buy it but my mum said she'd buy me it for Christmas so I could wear it on Christmas day. It's a little bit too big for me and as I plan to lose some weight this year I'll probably have to get it taken in, I just need to find somewhere local who will do it!
Firebox Kitten Fairies T-Shirt - I already knew I was getting this for Christmas because Ry showed it to me a few months before. The kittens on it are absolutely adorable! I wouldn't wear this shirt outside because I'm really not that wild (you might disagree when you see the next item of clothing) so I've made it my new lounge around the house t-shirt.
Primark My Little Pony Sweater - Can I still say I'm not wild even though I've got this jumper? I really really wanted this so badly. I bought some PJ bottoms and some slippers for Christmas Eve but didn't buy a top so my mum said she'd get it and give it to me as my 'early present' (she gives me one on Christmas Eve every year). It's the comfiest jumper ever I love it so much and for once I've found one that actually has nicely cuffed sleeves, bonus! I'm not sure if I'll ever wear this outside, do I dare?

Books - This year I got 4 books for Christmas! I absolutely love to read I just never really find the time to go out and buy new books when I've finished reading the ones I've got. If I'm going to be really honest I'm too bone idle so usually I only get books at Christmas. The first three books are from my family. One of my brother's got me 'Will Grayson, Will Grayson' by John Green and my other brother got me Morrissey's Autobiography.  I asked for both of these books and I'm very grateful to have gotten them. The third book is 'P.S. I Love You' by Cecelia Ahern and oh my I was not expecting to receive this for Christmas, my mum bought me it as a surprise gift. I was so shocked to see this under the wrapping paper but also very happy. I really can't wait to read these three books. I'm going to have to take some time out of my schedule to read them. I go back to University next week and haven't done any of the work I was given for over Christmas so have no time for reading just yet (oh dear).

The last book is a journal and is a gift from my boyfriend. I'm a night owl. I'm always up at ridiculous times so he got me the 'I Can't Sleep' Journal. When you open the cover there's a brief explanation of sleep, insomnia and how to use the journal. Then on each double page is a quote and a page where you write the reason(s) why you can't sleep (it could be anything). There's another thing on the page where you 'tick' when today becomes tomorrow but without pictures you won't really understand that. I'll put a link to the inside of the journal here so you can understand a little better.

DVD's - I got quite a few DVD's for Christmas this year and I really need to find some time to watch them. They were all a total surprise I had no idea I was getting any of them as gifts for Christmas. One of them is from my mum and just like the book she got me, was a total surprise. She got me 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest' and I was ecstatic to see it. I first saw this film last year in one of my Psychology classes at University and it was such a good film that I immediately added it to my wishlist. I told my mum all about it as soon as I got home that day. I've wanted to get the book and the film for months and just never bothered so to see that my mum has remembered and got me this for Christmas is amazing and I am so grateful. The next lot of DVD's are all from my boyfriend and I had no idea about any of these either! I was very shocked to see he'd bought me so many. He picked some really good films two of which we went to the cinema to see together. They're all sitting happily in my DVD collection and I'm just waiting to see Ry again so we can watch 'This Is The End' together because neither of us have seen it yet and want to watch it together. Awww us!
The next two presents are also from my boyfriend (he's spoiled me rotten already).
Portal 2 - The story behind the Xbox game basically is that I played Portal at his house for the first time a couple of months ago and I got addicted to it, angry throw the xbox controller addicted, and I completed it within 3-4 days. So he got me the second one for Christmas and if I'm going to be really honest I'm too scared to go on it in case I get super addicted again.
Disney Princess CD - I could not believe my eyes when I saw Ry had bought me 'Now That's What I Call Disney Princess' oh my word! I think for nearly every present he got me I exclaimed 'nar ya haven't have ya?!' in that exact Geordie/Mackem twang and this was one of them. I couldn't believe it. I should have really guessed it since my presents were wrapped in Disney Princess paper but ahhhh I love love love this. Disney is my favourite.
Perfume - Oh yes here we are the mother category of all gifts. Perfume is one of my favourite gifts to receive and I think that's because I'm obsessed with it. Last year I had 5 perfumes on the go at once and I still have two half full bottles. Always spoiled for choice! I'm not going in to depth here about the scents etc. I'll make a separate post for that soon.
Britney Spears - Hidden Fantasy - I'm quite fond of the Britney 'fantasy' range, I like all of them. I asked my brother for this or Midnight Fantasy to go with the John Green book I asked for and he pretty much said 'yeah no bother it's done'. I haven't had this perfume in 2 years so I'm very happy to see this in my collection again.
Nina Ricci - Nina L'Elixir - I got this off my mum. I bought this perfume in the summer and stupidly took the full bottle out with me on a night out and left my bag in a taxi when I was too drunk. I rang the taxi company straight away. Within 5 seconds of getting out of the taxi I realised I left my bag but he'd drove off. I tried for 2 weeks to get my bag back and sadly, I didn't. I was absolutely devastated. I was meaning to buy this and replace it for ages and just never got around to it so my mum said she'd get me this for Christmas as my main present. I was over the moon! I'm so very happy that this is back in my perfume collection and I will never take a full size bottle outside with me again, I've learnt my lesson.
Thierry Mugler - Alien - Oh lord someone please hold me. My boyfriend bought me this and it was the first gift I opened and I really did exclaim 'NO WAY! YA HAVEN'T HAVE YA?!' There it is, my catchphrase of Christmas 2013! I couldn't believe it, I really did not expect to be getting this from anyone for Christmas but there it was sitting in a gift bag. I had to hold my tears of happiness and surprise back. I want to keep it forever.
Ry and me both love the TV series' Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead so he got me some novelty gifts. Aren't they cool? If you've seen Breaking Bad you will understand why the candy and bath salts are blue. I usually hate Monopoly but I really can't wait to play the 'The Walking Dead' edition. I love gifts like this I think they're so cool. Does that make me weird?
Beauty Products - Woohoo here we are the second mother of gifts, beauty products! These are all from my wonderful mother. Every year around October time we go shopping in town and she lets me pick some goodies for Christmas! I've already used the make up brushes prior to taking the photos for this post, that's why they're looking grubby and I've also already used one of the Fearne lip crayons. I really couldn't resist using them on Christmas day, sorry! I've got to admit those Fearne Cotton Lip Crayons are amazing quality in every way possible and luckily for me they're all matte! Hooray! It saddens me that these aren't part of a permanent collection. I also got the Fearne mini collection and the Minnie Mouse mini collection. Of course Christmas wouldn't complete without Soap & Glory products! I chose the 'Relax Station' and this includes 3 full size products and two miniatures.
I get a bag for Christmas every year. I didn't want one that was too expensive so I just asked my mum for this nice simple small black bag from Primark. I get most of my bags from Primark and surprisingly enough they last me years.
Okay here we are, the Katy Perry gifts. I'm not sure if many of you know but I'm obsessed with Katy Perry. Nearly 20 years old and obsessed with a pop star, it's a bit surreal and childish really, isn't it? I already bought myself the new album, Killer Queen fragrance, and a ticket for her tour in May so there wasn't much Katy choice for gifts this year, sorry family. I've gotten a Katy Perry calender every year from my mum for Christmas since 2010 and this year was of course no different! The other Katy gift I got was from one of my brother's to go with the Morrissey book. I couldn't believe it. I stared at it in awe for most of the morning with the only thought 'KATY PERRY'S SIGNATURE IS RIGHT THERE OH MY GOD WHAT HOW'. I'm going to get a nice frame for this so I can hang it on my bedroom wall all nice. I'm still extremely happy with this gift, it's perfect.
The next lot of gifts are all Hello Kitty as you can see. My boyfriend's mum knows how much I love all things Hello Kitty so she made me a little hamper type thing with some Hello Kitty goodies in it, how cute are they!? The umbrella handle being Hello Kitty's head is just too much cute for me to handle. I'm also keeping the Chocolate coin, I'm never going to eat it, it's too cute (do you think I'm sad yet?). She also got me none Hello Kitty themed gifts: a compact mirror and a travel nail kit and also a blanket that is also a poncho. It's super warm and super soft and super comfy and I've worn it every day since Christmas Day.
Vans - My dad gives me money every year for Christmas. I spotted these Vans in Office and thought I'd rather have a gift to receive from my dad than just get given money on the day so I asked if I could get these instead of money and he said it was no problem! I'm a sucker for Vans and Converse, that part of the 'emo' phase never did leave me.
Boohoo Olive Chunky Buckle Boot - I've looked all over for some nice boots for the Winter that have a good tread on them and couldn't find any anywhere. My mum said that since I needed some that she'd get me some for Christmas so we both had a browse around shops in town and on the internet until we stumbled across these beautiful boots on Boohoo.com. They are perfect to wear with everything, jeans, skirts, dresses and they have a really good tread on them so if it snows I will (hopefully) not be stranded! I swear that site is my new favourite site, they have so many wonderful things. I bought a dress off there with Christmas money I got off my auntie and I haven't included it in this post but it is wonderful. I'll put a link to an image of it here.
The last very large present I got from my boyfriend is a box full of lots of Lush goodies! I am utterly obsessed with Lush and it's the reason I'm so poor all of the time it is my ultimate downfall. There's four ballistics I've never tried before in this box and that's got me very excited, I can't wait! There's one bath ballistic in particular that I took a close up shot of and that is the Abombinaball ballistic! I did not expect Ry to have gotten me this I thought I'd totally missed out since it was retro and only available online. I don't want to ever use it but it smells so good, it's a mixture of Peppermint and Vanilla mmm. Ry also got me some of my favourite ballistics and also got me a generous sized bottle of Snow Fairy!
Last is of course Chocolate! What's Christmas without lots of sweets and Chocolate? Yummy!
There are a couple of presents that aren't pictured here and one of them is a chocolate bar Ry bought me with a special message on it. I didn't want to show anyone that because it's quite a personal gift. My mum also got me some earrings and set of rings and some minnie mouse slippers. Also, I didn't mention it but I got the MUA undressed palette off my mum. There's a blog post coming reviewing that in the next day or so.

I really believe I was spoilt rotten this year for Christmas. My family, my boyfriend and my boyfriends family got me some wonderful gifts and I'm so grateful for them all.
