Hello everyone! As you can see from the title of this post, it's pretty self explanatory. I'm almost certain everyone who finds themselves deep in the beauty world has heard of and even owns a few of these black bullets of joy also known as MAC Lipsticks. I purchased my first MAC lipstick in 2013 (in the shade Chatterbox) and I guess you could say an obsession was born. It's funny, just 10 minutes before I started writing this post I added 4 new MAC lippies to my wishlist for when payday comes around. Rehab anyone? Anyway, I decided it was time for me to post about and share my collection with you all. I love reading these posts, they help me get a relatively good idea of the shades these lipsticks are and help me when I'm undecided on a particular shade. I actually meant to post this in June of last year, but I only had 5 lippies then so my collection was embarrassingly small but it's grown since then and I now own 14. I'll be reviewing these by finish and not colour.
Velvet Teddy, Brave, Mehr, Amorous, Diva, Frank-N-Furter, Russian Red, Ronnie Red, Strange Journey, Vegas Volt, Chatterbox, Impassioned, Candy Yum Yum, Daddy's Little Girl.
Satin Finish
Brave, Amorous, Daddy's Little Girl
MAC describe Brave as a 'pink beige with white pearl'. I assumed 'white pearl' would make it look a bit frosty but it doesn't and if I'm honest, I can't even tell it's there unless I put it over Soar liner. I dunno if that's just me and my inability to see these tiny details. This lippy is a MLBB (my lips but better) shade on me, and that makes me very happy and has also promoted it to my current favourite lipstick to wear. I pair this with Soar lip liner for longer wear and a tidier finish and also a slightly darker colour.
Amorous
MAC describe this as a 'Lovestruck Cranberry'. In the tube it looks more plum that it actually is and on me it's more of a deep pinkish brown. Nevertheless it's still a lovely colour and I like how it looks on me. I think this is a perfect colour for the Autumn (although of course you can wear it all through the year), I just tend to go for rather bright in your face colours in the warmer months.
Daddy's Little Girl (Limited Edition)
Daddy's Little Girl is limited edition and part of the Archie's Girls collection and one of two lippies I chose from that collection. This shade is described as a 'mid-tone pink violet' and has definite blue undertones. This looks exactly the same on as it does in the tube. I love this colour so much and as you can see I've definitely gotten my use out of it. I'm gonna be so sad when I run out of this due to it being limited edition, I might have to search the ebay world and try to repurchase! This leaves a reddish purple stain.
Matte Finish
Velvet Teddy, Mehr, Candy Yum-Yum, Strange Journey, Ronnie Red, Russian Red, Frank-N-Furter, Diva

Mehr
Velvet Teddy
Candy Yum Yum
Frank-N-Furter & Strange Journey
Ronnie Red & Diva
Russian Red
Mehr
This is described as a 'dirty blue pink' and is subtly blue toned pink. Mehr is, in my opinion, pretty much identical to Brave the only differences being Mehr is more pink toned, has no 'white pearl' and is also matte otherwise I think they look the same swatched and on my face.
Velvet Teddy
MAC describe Velvet Teddy as a 'deep-tone beige'. This shade leans quite brown on some people and quite pink on others, and as you can see it leans towards the brown side on me but that will be fixed by my good friend Whirl lip pencil. I really like this shade, I don't usually go for browns but if I blend it out a bit it's not so BAM I AM BROWN, it mutes it. This is perfect for me when paired with a smoky eye otherwise it washes me out 'cause I'm very pale.
Candy Yum Yum
This is described as a 'neon pink' and really you can't argue with that 'cause that's an on point description. This is a very blue toned neon pink and it's perfect for summer. If you dislike in your face lip colours then you should definitely stay away from this shade 'cause it's the definition of bright! This leaves a slight stain.
Frank-N-Furter (Limited Edition)
This is a limited edition shade and is part of the Rocky Horror Collection. Frank-N-Furter is described as a 'deep raspberry wine'. Honestly I wouldn't describe this as wine at all not in the tube or on my lips or swatched. Yes it is a deepened red and I'd describe it as the lovechild of Diva and Russian Red but it's definitely not wine coloured at all.
Strange Journey (Limited Edition)
Strange Journey is a limited edition shade and is part of the Rocky Horror Collection. It's described as a 'yellowish brick red' and is an orange red with warm undertones. I was unsure of this before I purchased it but I took the plunge and thought 'why not?' and I'm glad I did 'cause I love it and I'm glad to have it in my collection.
Ronnie Red (Limited Edition)
Ronnie Red is also a limited edition shade and is part of the Archie's Girls collection. This is described a 'bright red' and that's it that's all the description MAC gave! It's a pink toned red with blue undertones and is the creamiest matte lipstick I've ever used. On application it's quite creamy but then sets to a none drying, long wearing red. As you can see from the tube this is my most used lipstick so obviously it's good and I'm probably gonna cry when I run out of product.
Diva
MAC describe Diva as an 'intense reddish-burgundy'. I think this is a very daring dark colour to wear and without a liner there's a chance it'll look messy and feather/bleed. This is the perfect autumn red for me, and when paired with Burgundy lip pencil you have the perfect autumn lip.
Russian Red
This is described as an 'intense bluish red' but to be honest it doesn't really sway blue toned on me, it's more neutral/warm I'd say. I love this red and I'd class this as a 'true red' it's just so flawless. This shade of red somehow goes with every make up look I do and also every outfit, so very versatile. I pair this with Brick lip liner for a tidier finish.
Amplified Creme Finish
Vegas Volt, Chatterbox, Impassioned
Vegas Volt
Chatterbox
Impassioned
MAC describes Vegas Volt as a 'full power coral'. This is an bright orange coral and sometimes it leans more towards the I AM ORANGE side than the coral side. This clings to all the horrible bits on my lips so I've gotta make sure to exfoliate before I use this, other than that though I love this shade and I bought it especially for the warmer months.
Chatterbox
Chatterbox is this first MAC lipstick I ever bought/owned and is described as a 'bright-red pink'. When I put this on for some reason it sometimes doesn't look very pink at all and almost like my natural lip, then other times it's quite a standout colour and I can't understand why. This is a very versatile shade and goes with almost all my make up looks. Also it's perfect for sunny days!
Impassioned
Impassioned is described as an 'amped up fuschia' and is a pinkish red with a hint of coral. I've only had this one a week and haven't had time to wear it outside or even at all really so can't comment much on it's versatility in terms of make up looks. It's a nice colour to own though and I'll definitely wear this a lot over the spring/summer.
So there we have it, my MAC collection! As you can probably tell, my favourite finish is Matte. This is followed by Satin and then Amplified. These are the only 3 finishes I'm happy to use because I can't stand anything too glossy. I find all of these shades very pigmented and not at all drying and I suppose that's what you want in a lippy isn't it? I hope you've enjoyed this post, despite how long it is. I can't wait to expand my collection even more! If you've any shades you'd recommend please leave a comment and I'll definitely have a browse.
